2012年4月に開通した「阿波しらさぎ大橋」は、吉野川河口にしっかりと蓋をしてしまった。

長年見慣れてきた海と空と川が出会う大きな安心感に満ちた広大な景観が失われてしまった。

大きな空を失い、シギチドリの群れが宙を舞うことも、水際の渡り鳥の姿と鳴き声もだんだんと遠のいている。
